Privacy Policy

This site collects very little: what you send us through the contact form, your address if you subscribe to the newsletter, and anonymous counts of how pages are read. This page explains each of those precisely, who processes them, and what we deliberately avoid doing.

Who we are

This website is operated by NextraLogic Software Pvt. Ltd., based in Kathmandu, Nepal.

NextraLogic Software Pvt. Ltd. is incorporated in Nepal under the Office of the Company Registrar (OCR), Government of Nepal, and is additionally registered with the Department of Industry (उद्योग विभाग).

If you have a question about anything on this page, write to business@nextralogic.com.

What we collect

Three things, and nothing else:

  • What you type into the contact form: your name, your email address, and your message.
  • Your email address, if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter.
  • Anonymous measurements of how our pages are read, which are counted in daily totals per page and cannot be traced back to you.

The contact form

Contact form submissions are processed by Netlify Forms, the form service built into our hosting provider. Your submission is transmitted to Netlify, stored there, and forwarded to us so we can reply. Netlify processes it as our service provider and under their own privacy terms.

The form also includes a hidden anti-spam field. It is never shown to you and is only used to discard automated submissions.

We keep what you send for as long as we need it to answer your enquiry and to keep a record of our correspondence with you. You can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing us.

The newsletter

If you subscribe, we store your email address and the page you subscribed from — which tells us which article earned the signup. We store no name, no IP address, and no user agent alongside it.

Subscribing is confirmed by email before you receive anything else: we send one message asking you to confirm, and if you never click it you never hear from us again. That confirmation mail is delivered by Resend, our email provider, who processes your address on our behalf in order to send it.

Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and mail apps that support one-click unsubscribe can use it without opening anything. When you unsubscribe we keep the row and mark it as opted out, rather than deleting it, so that a later import cannot quietly put you back on the list. If you would rather be erased entirely, email us and we will delete the record.

We do not sell, rent, or share the list, and we do not use it for anything but our own newsletter.

How we measure reading

We do measure how our articles are read, because we would otherwise be writing blind. We do it without identifying you, and it is worth setting out exactly how.

When you leave a page, your browser sends us one small message. It contains the page address, roughly how many seconds the page was in front of you, how far down you scrolled, whether the screen was phone-sized, the name of the site you arrived from — reduced to a category such as "search" or "LinkedIn" — how quickly the page loaded and responded, and which of a handful of things you used, such as the contents panel or a share button.

That message carries no cookie, no identifier, no account, and no IP address, and we do not store one. It is added into a running daily total for that page and is not kept as a separate record, so there is no row that is yours and nothing that can be joined up into a history of one person. We cannot tell that the same browser came back tomorrow, and neither can anyone who obtains the data.

Those totals go directly to our own database. No third-party measurement service is involved, and nothing about your visit is shared with an advertising or analytics company.

Anti-abuse

To stop a script flooding the newsletter signup or the measurements above, our database counts how many requests arrive from a given source each minute. To do that it converts the requesting IP address into an irreversible hash — the address itself is never written down — counts against it, and deletes the counter after five minutes.

What this site does not do

This is worth stating plainly, because most websites cannot say it:

  • No third-party analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, and no third-party measurement script of any kind on this site. The reading measurements described above are our own, they are anonymous, and they stay with us.
  • No cookies on the pages you read. This site sets none. Signing in to our private staff area sets a session cookie, but that area is for our own team and is closed to the public.
  • No advertising networks, no remarketing pixels, and no social tracking widgets. The share buttons on our articles use your device's own share sheet or copy a link to your clipboard; they load nothing from Instagram, Facebook, or anyone else.
  • No third-party font requests. Typefaces are downloaded at build time and served from our own domain, so loading a page tells no font provider that you visited.
  • No profiling, no cross-site tracking, and no attempt to recognise you from one visit to the next.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone for marketing.

Storage in your browser

If you switch between light and dark appearance, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it next time. It is a single value holding your theme preference, it is not a cookie, it is never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and clearing your browser data removes it.

Your language choice is not stored. It is carried in the page address instead.

Where the data lives

Three providers process data for us, each for one job: Netlify hosts the site and handles contact form submissions, Supabase hosts the database that holds our articles, the newsletter list, and the reading totals, and Resend delivers newsletter email. They act on our instructions and under their own privacy terms, and they may store and process data outside Nepal.

Like effectively all web hosts, Netlify may record standard technical request information such as IP address, user agent, and the page requested, for security and operational purposes. We do not use those logs to build a profile of you, and we do not combine them with anything else on this page.

Links to other sites

Our footer links to profiles on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook, and our articles link out to other sites. Those are separate services with their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover what they do once you leave this site.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email business@nextralogic.com and we will respond.

Note that the reading measurements are anonymous by design: there is no identifier in them, so there is genuinely nothing there we could look up, hand over, or delete for a single person.

Depending on where you live, you may also have additional statutory rights under the data protection law that applies to you. We will honour those where they apply.

Governing law and disputes

This policy, and any dispute arising from it or from your use of this site, is governed by the laws of Nepal, in particular the Companies Act, 2063, the Information Technology Act, and the Muluki Dewani Samhita (Civil Code), 2074, which governs contracts.

Any legal action or court-based dispute resolution will be brought in the competent courts of Kathmandu, Nepal.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this site handles information, we will update this page and change the date at the top of it.
